Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has been discharged from Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai, five days after a shocking stabbing incident at his Bandra residence.
New photos and vidoes show the actor looking well in a crisp white shirt, denim jeans, and glasses as he arrived home, surrounded by a heavy entourage of security.
Saif’s return marks a moment of relief for fans and family who have anxiously followed his recovery.
The attack occurred on January 16 at Khan’s Bandra home. During the incident, the actor was stabbed six times by an intruder. Saif was rushed to Lilavati Hospital in an autorickshaw, where he underwent multiple surgeries, including a procedure to remove a 2.5-inch-long knife from his spine and another for injuries around his neck.
Dr. Nitin Dange, who oversaw his treatment, confirmed that the timely medical intervention played a crucial role in his recovery.
According to Dr. Dange, “Saif’s discharge papers were filed on Monday evening, and the discharge was scheduled for Tuesday morning, between 10 am and 12 pm.” The hospital staff praised the actor’s resilience and recovery progress, noting that he is now out of danger and healing well.
Saif’s wife, actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, revealed that he sustained the injuries while trying to protect their younger son, Jeh, from the attacker. Despite valuable jewellery being present in the house, the intruder appeared uninterested, raising questions about his motive.

The police are investigating all angles, including the possibility of motives beyond robbery. On Sunday, Mumbai police arrested Mohammad Shariful Islam Shahzad, a 30-year-old Bangladeshi national, from Thane.
The accused, who had allegedly changed his name to Vijay Das, attempted to mislead investigators by claiming he was a resident of Kolkata. His true identity was confirmed through a school leaving certificate found on his phone.
According to the police, the attacker entered the residential building intending to rob a wealthy man’s house, unaware of Saif’s celebrity status.
Following the incident, stricter security measures have been implemented at Khan’s Bandra home. These include the installation of CCTV cameras and an additional security gate beside the main entrance to ensure the safety of the family.
As Saif Ali Khan left the hospital, he was accompanied by Kareena Kapoor Khan and greeted by media and fans.
