Earth, Wind & Fire on last minute performance with Sabrina Carpenter

Earth, Wind & Fire shared details of jumping in last minute to perform on Sabrina Carpenter’s set at the Lollapalooza.

The band and Espresso singer gave a spectacular performance of 1981’s Let’s Groove and 1978’s September.

In an interview with Vulture, Philip Bailey, the band’s frontman since 1972, revealed their experience of stepping out on stage with the Please, Please, Please singer.

The mind-blowing collaboration happened through a call made by Carpenter’s agent.

“It was one of those kinds of things that happened in 24 hours,” he told the outlet. “We had to really turn this thing around.”

Bailey added, “They sent a private plane for us and our entourage. We hopped a plane at 7 a.m., went in, and had the rehearsal.”

The Sing a Song crooner shared that he was worried about the timings, however, “by that evening, they had dialled everything in.”

While Praising the Manchild hit maker, legendary icon said she is “very cordial, very kind, and very approachable. She did her homework on what verses she was going to take.”

Bailey continued, “We went out there and floated on all that energy.”

This is not the first time Carpenter has invited a surprise guest, previously on her Short n’ Sweet tour, she invited Duran Duran onstage as surprise guests at her concert in London.

Carpenter is currently busy with prompting her new album Man’s Best Friend, which is set to release on August 29.
