Indian cricketer KL Rahul and actor Athiya Shetty on Friday shared the first photo of their baby daughter, Evaarah, with fans on Instagram, nearly a month after her birth.

While the couple refrained from revealing the newborn’s face, the image was accompanied by a heartfelt caption: “Our baby girl, our everything. 🪷 Evaarah~ Gift of God 🪷”. The name “Evaarah” is derived from Sanskrit, meaning “God’s gift.”

The couple welcomed their daughter on March 24, months after announcing their pregnancy in November. In the lead-up to the birth, Athiya and Rahul had shared images from a pregnancy photoshoot, offering glimpses of their journey to parenthood.

The post quickly drew love from celebrities including actors Anushka Sharma and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who reacted with heart emojis in the comments section.

Athiya’s father, veteran actor Suniel Shetty, recently described becoming a grandfather as the “biggest excitement” in his life. In an interview with ETimes, he shared how staying fit has taken on new meaning for him: “I motivate myself to work out so I can play with my granddaughter without taking a break.”

KL Rahul, currently part of the Delhi Capitals squad in the Indian Premier League (IPL), had missed the season opener against his former team, the Lucknow Super Giants, to be present for the birth of his daughter. He flew out of Visakhapatnam just hours before welcoming Evaarah.

The couple, who tied the knot in January 2023, have often spoken about their strong bond.

In a previous interview with Cosmopolitan, Athiya said, “We have very different personalities, and I believe that’s what balances us out… Rahul just understands what I’m going through. It comes naturally to him, and that’s what is so special about him.”
