Since the time humans first started walking upright, we’ve been doing our best to come up with new ways to test the limits of our bodies and minds. It’s not always pretty, but it sure is entertaining and has made us evolve in ways other species can only dream of, Bored Panda reported.

Since its founding in 1955, Guinness World Records has made it its goal to maintain track of the most impressive, extreme, and craziest world records humanity has achieved.

Here are the 10 weirdest and craziest records ever made. 

Heaviest train pulled by a beard

A train weighing 2,753.1 kilogrammes (6,069 lbs) was hauled by bearded Spanish man Ismael Rivas Falcon in 2001 across a distance of 10 metres (32.8 ft).

Longest stand-up comedy performance by single person

The longest stand-up comedy show was performed in 2013 by The Midnight Swinger, alias David Scott (USA). He joked for 48 hours and eight minutes.

Fastest speaker

In 1995, Sean Shannon, a Canadian, took just 23.8 seconds to recite the 260-word “To Be or Not to Be” soliloquy from Hamlet.

Most feet and armpits sniffed

Madeline Albrecht was employed at the Hill Top Research Laboratories in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA, a testing lab for products by Dr Scholl. 

She worked there for 15 years and had to smell thousands of feet and armpits during her career. She has sniffed approximately 5,600 feet and an indeterminate number of armpits.

Longest hiccup episode

Charles Osborne, USA, started hiccoughing in 1922 while attempting to weigh a hog before slaughtering it. 

He was unable to find a cure but led a normal life in which he had two wives and fathered eight children. He continued until the morning of February 1990.

Fastest to type to one million

Les Stewart of Australia put in sixteen years of arduous effort to type from one to one million words.

Fastest to consume two litres of soda

Eric Booker, a US citizen, drank two litres of Pepsi in 18.45 seconds in 2021.

Longest time stuck in an elevator

Kively Papajohn, from Limassol, Cyprus, is the owner of this record. Kively, then 76 years old, spent six days stuck in the lift of her apartment building between December 28, 1987, and January 2, 1988. 

Longest tattoo session

Giovanni Vassallo, an Italian tattoo artist, inked several individuals for 61 hours and 37 minutes in 2022.

Fastest to push an orange for a mile by nose 

In 2007, the USA’s Ashrita Furman pushed an orange with his nose for one mile in 22 minutes and 41 seconds.
